HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Well, I made it for 1 more year. We are now up to 66 big ones. I never thought I would be seeing this age but I guess nobody does. It's all a crapshoot and the way we feel today depends on how we took care of ourselves most of our lives.

I am so thankful that I have the job I do to keep me active and exercising because I know I wouldn't do it voluntarily. And the fact that I am a fanatic about what I eat helps a lot also. This isn't to say that I can't drop dead today or have a stroke (God forgive) but I'm counting on the former option happening whenever the Good Lord thinks it is time. I don't want to be a burden on anyone. And we all know the "bus is coming some day."

For Mothers' Day, I met Deb and family and her mother-in-law in Potomac and went to lunch and then went to Dean's daughters house in Braddock Heights for dinner. Stayed at Dean's for the night and shawn came by on his way from the airport to Pap's.

Monday AM we went to breakfast in Thurmont and I met Shawn and Vicki at her office to go over Pap's bills which are a mess. They had made an appt. with his doctor for 2:30 because of a rash he developed behind his ear. We all took him and the nurse practitioner thought it was cellulitus. We went to dinner and got his medicine and I came home. His rash got worse so Vicki took him to emergency room on Wednesday and he has Shingles which has spread to his face and torso. Apparently is very aggressive. He is now on other meds and doing better although he says it is ugly and itches. Hope it can be cleared up.

I had no work tuesday and Wednesdays job cancelled so I was in panic mode. Made some calls and worked half day on Wednesday and another job came thru for Thursday and Friday. Unfortunately it was in Alexandria (but a job) and the travel time was ridiculous. Thursday it took 1 hour and 50 mins. to get home. This tires me out more than the work. BUT IT IS A JOB!!

Too tired yesterday to do much except grocery shop and get my nails done. Today I was going to go to Felicia's softball games but found out last night that they were playing at 8:00 AM and it is 2 hrs. from here.

Also decided not to go to Pap's because he seems to be doing okay for now and may need me later. So I am going to get some flowers for my yard and be lazy today because I have a 3 day job starting tomorrow that includes painting a stippled ceiling, painting a F/Rm and papering a kitchen. Oh joy!!! Why do I accept these jobs????????? Will complain later about how sore my back is but it is work.
