Dilemma ???

Up bright and early to go to the Social Security Office to straighten out a (to me) huge problem with my SS checks. They are saying that they sent me $1737 too much this summer and that I need to repay them immediately, or they will not deposit my checks till they get it back.

NOT MY FAULT THEY ARE STUPID AND INCOMPETENT!!!

But that is not important.......What is important??? They have control over my income. Hate that.

Anyway, this AM turns out to be foggy with zero visibility and I don't think I want to get out on our highways at 7 AM to get frustrated in traffic before I arrive at their office to get more frustrated. Can't get through to them to make an appointment (sat on hold for 66 mins. yesterday and gave up).

Present decision, wait till later, be further back in the line of indigents and take a really good book, and wear comfortable "pacing shoes".

Dreary Saturday

I thought I was driving to Millville, NJ today to meet Shawn at a Stock Car Race. Then I got some sense and realised that was a long way to drive (3.75 hrs. each way) to visit and watch a 1 hour race. I am sorry I missed seeing him though. He had flown some drivers in from Long Beach on Friday and then after the race they were flying to Atlanta for races there this week. He does live a great life. I'm slightly jealous!!!

Went on a paper estimate at 1:00 and then to grocery store and that was the excitement in my meager life.

Tomorrow my plan is to buy weed killer and seed for the yard. MORE EXCITEMENT. I am determined to get grass to grow instead of all the weeds I have been mowing for 8 yrs. here. Stay tuned and find out if I succeeded or if I'm thoroughly pissed that I have to mow more often because of all the healthy greenery.

Very early

The windows are in and the trim is wrapped. It looks like a new house. I spent a few hours yesterday at Home Depot (no luck) and Lowe's buying new blinds for the whole house. God forbid you should put up old blinds on brand new windows......that would kill the whole effect. Got 2 1/2 inch blinds for living room and 1 inch vinyl for the upstairs. Want cafe shutters and a valance for the kitchen window but neither store had them. SOOOOOOOOO , I decided to check out e-bay. Found a set the perfect size and now I have to wait till tomorrow night at 10:00 to see if I bid high enough. Love the suspense but will be totally pissed if I get outbid!

Tomorrow morning I am headed to OC again until Tuesday (or maybe Monday if I get antsy and Dean is getting on my nerves). She is leaving for Florida on the 22nd and I wanted 1 more chance to get to the beach this year.

Guess I should try to get back to sleep or I'll be exhausted for my trip.

Labor Day

Sunday I drove to Deb's for a holiday picnic and to see Felicia, who was home from school for the weekend after just 1 week in college. If she makes the softball team she will not be home again until Xmas. Cannot believe she is that old.

The picnic was great: with lots of food (crabs, shrimp, salads, my shrimp salad, etc.)

The weather was just beautiful----80+ degrees, low humidity, no wind. Who could ask for more?

I spent the night and helped to clean up and spend some more time with the kids.

Monday I went to my dad's about 10:00. Bought us both lunch at GT's and at least I know he had 1 meal that day. Stripped his bed and washed sheets and blankets. Cleaned the patio and walkway and picked up sticks in the yard so that Larry could mow.

Headed back home about 3:30 and stopped at one of my favorite stores, "Dirt Cheap" and found a pair of shorts, a pair of capris, 2 paint brushes, wire brushes and a box cutter that I couldn't resist. All for $22. Can't beat the prices that's why I love the place.

Home by 5:30.

Today I went on an estimate to a CPA's office. Is going to be a LARGE job if they do it so I asked Susie to help. We will also have to hire someone else to help strip the old paper and paste for both of us.

Also took the request to the Homeowners' to remove the tree in the front yard.

Tomorrow they are going to put in the new windows and on Thursday will wrap the wood trim with siding. Halleujah!!!!
