Still COLD

We are still in a very cold funk but at least there is no snow in sight, yet.

Saturday I went with Teri and Nick to National Harbor to the Ice Show. It was very cold there naturally but I was dressed like a "puffalump" so it wasn't too bad. Although the sculptures were amazing, I think it was geared toward kids. Lots of Animals, Christmas trees, slides, candy canes, etc. And because the show was closing this weekend, the Gaylord Hotel had removed all their Christmas decorations like an indoor snowfall, etc. so we missed those things. Although I am glad I went, I would not be inclined to go again.

Teri gave me a new keyboard and mousepad, which I desparately needed, as mine were covered with food, dust and other disgusting things.

Was going to Deb's tonight for Kaleigh's basketball game but she was sick yesterday and missed practice, so will not be playing tonight. So change of plans now are that I'll go on the 22nd and stay over to see Cassidy's game on Saturday also.

Other than cleaning, going to Target and voting, I guess I'll just lay around today.

No Sleep

Again I got no sleep all night. The Tylenol cold pills I got were Non-drowsy so I was wide-eyed watching Millionaire Matchmaker until 4 AM. Finally dropped off for an hour or so.

Don't feel like going out in this weather again so I'll just live with not sleeping for a while. I should have gotten Daytime and Nighttime but got 2 Daytime boxes. Was not thinking clearly.

Just very thankful that I'm not working right now.

January freeze

We have had such cold weather for over a week now. BUT, on the bright side, the days are getting longer by minutes each day.

Yesterday was another stay-at-home day. I did get showered and dressed, so that made me feel better. Then last night I ran out of my Cold pills so I couldn't sleep most of the night.

I put off going out in the cold till about 1 PM today and then went to Target . Hope I can sleep some tonight with a new supply of Tylenol Severe Cold pills.

I stopped at 7-11 to get a scratch ticket and after 3 winning tickets, came home $175.00 richer. Better than going to work!!! Now if I can win on the MegaMillion tickets I got for tomorrow night.......

New Years' Eve and Day

Michael and Mikie came to visit Thursday to go to lunch with us and drop off Bella for us to dogsit for the night. A beautiful, well-behaved Golden and soooooooo sweet.

I spent New Years' Eve making my casseroles of Pork Kielbasa, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and lots of swiss cheese. Then coughed most of the night and kept the dog awake.

They came back around 2 PM to get Bella and return to Baltimore a little weary from a late night and too much wine for Michael, I think.

Today I stayed in my pj's and blew my nose and coughed all day. Sure hope Mikie doesn't get this cold. Thanks Mike!!!!

I just emailed my sister that I have blown so much snot out of my nose today that my head shrank 2 hat sizes. Have to find something funny in this misery. I can stand pain much better than a head cold.

And I didn't win the New Years' Millionaire Lottery !!!!!!!!!!

The year has to improve from this, I hope!!!!

Christmas Week

The snow finally stopped somewhere around midnight Saturday with anywhere from 18-24 inches on ground, depending on who you listen to.

Monday Mike came home with a terrible cold (I warned him not to some home and make me sick, but he did anyway). Also there was nowhere for him to park with all the snow piled everywhere. So he unloaded and parked at Giant's parking lot and I brought him home.

Tuesday I relented and shoveled out the spare parking spot so he could bring his car home. It killed my back and legs, and it was so cold, but what else could I do. There is no one around here willing to work for money.

Worked on Wednesday and by the time I got home, I was starting to feel sick. Slept a lot to try and control it but in the end the swollen glands won the battle.

Went to Olive Garden for Christmas Eve dinner with Allison and Ashly and exchanged gifts. Love that kid to death and tend to spoil her.

Friday I was on road to Debbie's by 11:00 and had a turkey dinner there and exchanged gifts with everyone there. Spent the night and went to Vicki's on Saturday morning. Then to my Dad's to give him his gifts. He doesn't give a crap so I don't know why I bother but I guess it's more for me. He has never, ever bought a present for another person. And he is so out of it these days, he doesn't even take care of his hygiene anymore. Sad!!!!!!!!
