Friday already???

I got the priming and painting done on Wed. and Thurs. And, again, it felt really good to be working. Especially when nothing goes wrong.

Today was a nothing day ------went to Target, Ace Hardware, 7-11. Napped, watched tv.

Waiting to hear from lady about weekend job papering an 18 roll master bath. Sure hope I'm working!!!

Decorators be damned!!!

This AM I braved the 30 degree weather to go to Woodbridge to start stripping and papering a bedroom at the home of a decorator. Arrived ahead of time ready to start and she had not moved any furniture. It was all very heavy oak stuff plus a long sofa on 1 wall. She announced that she has a bad back and cannot possibly help. She said her husband would be home tomorrow to help. A lot of good that did today!!!

After removing some switch plates to determine how hard the removal was going to be, I decided it would be much better to prime over the old and then repaper. She was fine with that because it would be less expensive. One small problem-------I didn't have brushes, rollers, primer, etc. with me. Plus the furniture was still in the way.

So I said I would be back tomorrow with the proper supplies and the daughter said she would help her father to move the stuff tonight. I sure hope this happens and I can finally get started.

I came home and consoled myself and filled the hours by ordering "Mama Mia" On-demand. It's been so long since I watched a movie and this one was so lively and happy that it picked up my mood, temporarily anyway.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow!!!!

Dad's 89th Birthday

Later today I am going to my dad's to take him to dinner and a night of Blue Grass Music at his favorite places. My brother-in-law came up with the idea and he and my sister are going also. I will be sleeping in their basement again and coming home tomorrow afternoon.

Felicia's Softball game at Shepherd for Sunday was changed till Tuesday so I won't be able to go to that. Darn!!!! But I will be working and that is a good reason. I have a bedroom to strip and repaper in Manassas so that will keep me occupied for 2 or 3 days. And next weekend I am papering a large master bath in Woodbridge. Work is slowly picking up, thank heavens.

I have made reservations to go to Florida from March 17 to the 24th. Feel the need to get out of this cold and both Lucy and Dean have been bugging me to visit. Can't believe I have finally made a decision!!!

Spring

The stupid groundhog saw his shadow this morning!!!!!

Six more weeks of this nonsense. Guess that would have happened anyway.

No dog (yet?)

Wednesday I am working in the same "dog house" and they are really pushing to get rid of this dog. The last time I was there, he was at the groomers so I didn't get to see him.

Right now I am passing the time waiting to leave for an estimate at 1:00 in Ashburn. This is for stripping a kitchen and painting.

Last week we had snow and ice on Tuesday and Wednesday so I didn't get out much. I'm glad I don't have work on those kinds of days. This week, snow is predicted for Monday night and Tuesday. I hope it doesn't affect me getting to work on Wednesday. I did get a lot of cleaning done around here though, which was sorely needed.

The Super Bowl last night was the most exciting I can remember. Both teams played very good but unfortunately, I was rooting for the Cardinals who lost in the last 30 seconds.
