Home Sweet Home

Well, the commute to the Wednesday job was horrific. Backed up everywhere and took me 2 hours to get there. Needless to say, I didn't get finished job and had to return on Thursday. This is one of the downsides to having dogs to tend to, they can only "hold it" so long. But I got finished and now can relax for a while before next job in 2 weeks.

Love my free time but not the lack of money!!!

It is wonderful to be back home. I got home about 11:00 Friday night, unloaded the truck and unpacked everything. Was really energized about being on familiar territory. Even did a few loads of laundry.

Saturday, enjoyed my leisurely working of the puzzles and reading the paper. Took a nap and waited to be called to come get my check for my 3 weeks of dogsitting. Finally called her at 3:00 and went to retrieve my paycheck. Everything was okay but they were adjusting to being home also.

Sunday was shopping at Dollar Store, Safeway, Target and , of course, a quick stop at Ross. One sweater, one pair of sweat pants and washclothes for work. I was also checking out possible Christmas gifts. It's coming too fast, as usual.

The Redskins beat Seattle but I didn't get to watch because Teri decided that was a good time to help me reinstall a free anti-spam program on my computer. Oh well, they did okay without me.

Monday just piddled around here getting lots of organizing done, although it is not visible, cleaning up dead plants on front porch and just enjoying my DIGS.

3 1/2 days

Only 3 1/2 days to go. It seems like only yesterday that I was saying only 20 days to go, so I guess it has gone okay. I'm getting really antsy to get back to my familiar territory. Tomorrow I have a job in Woodbridge which could prove a problem time-wise getting back to the dogs but I'll just leave and finish up on Thursday. Hope that's not a problem with the customer!!!

Dog Sitting

Into my 13th day of house/dogsitting. It's getting less hectic staying in someone else's house but I get antsy. I come back home everyday to get the newspaper and mail, and either go to work or go to the store, etc. Will be leaving there the evening of the 21st and it can't come too soon. It's been an adventure but 3+ weeks is a long time. A long weekend would have worked better but sometimes you just have to submerge into something to fully appreciate it. The dogs are really good and affectionate and a joy to be around but I have no plans to get tied down again with my own. This has taught me that much.

I am home now doing my laundry and trying to figure out what to wear on Sunday. Teri got us tickets to see "Kooza" which presented another problem with the dogs. I will be gone too long to leave them alone so I had to get a relative of the couple to come in to let them out and feed them. Hope that works out. It's the best I can do.
