Lunar Eclipse

Well, another eclipse happened without me seeing it. Oh darn!!!

The weekend turned out not too bad except now I have to keep adding brake fluid to my truck. Guess I have to bite the bullet and get it into the garage before all the nuts and bolts drop off. Friday will probably be the day as I am working the next 2 days.

Stayed at Vicki's Friday night and Dean's on Saturday night. Rode with one of Dean's friends' to pick up her grandson in the mountains close to Camp David on Saturday night. A huge storm had come thru and left the narrow roads covered with leaves and limbs and, as we found out coming back, power lines. Going up, we got lost and spent an hour trying to find our way which should have taken 15 minutes. It is really eerie on back roads after a storm with the fog settling over the trees and you have no idea where you are. We finally came to a clearing and got a cell signal so we could find out where we went wrong. Got back to Dean's at 11:00 after making a few 3-point turns to avoid debris and slept very well that night.

Note to me: Get a map before embarking on mountain roads in the dark.

Just chatted with Ashly and she seems much happier at college. Ecstatic, in fact and actually likes it at school now. She did not come home as she had wanted for the weekend and apparently had a blast. Making friends seems to have helped. Now we can only hope they are decent friends,

Update...

Not much to report except my mind is slowly returning. Now I don't know if I want it back. LOL

Work has been slow but steady, went to last play of summer "Smoke on the Mountain", visited Jeffrey, papered Deb's basement stairwell, got my nails and hair done. How boring can it get.

The temperature has been in the 60's and 70's for a week and we've had rain, glorious rain. BUT today it is supposed to go back up into the 90's and high humidity again.

I am taking Jeffrey to my dad's for today and tomorrow and am dreading the trip. My A/C is working but the fan died so I have to drive really fast to enjoy the cool air. This vehicle is dying a little at a time but I need to keep it going until April or May. Keeping my fingers crossed.

The dehumidifier Mike bought is doing a great job!!!!!!!!!!! My clothes are not damp and musty and I am not coughing as much. Also got my new light installed in my computer area and can finally see again. Some things are looking up.

Ashly is now at Greensboro College and had a really hard time adjusting at first. She was a roller coaster of emotions the 1st few days. Unfortunately she has decided to drop Soccer from her schedule. Says she has been thinking about it for sometime but feels she needs to devote more time to studies. Soccer has been her life for sooooooo many years that I don't quite understand but she made the decision. Don't know how that will affect her scholarship money?????

HOT

I am really glad July is over.........

I went to Deb's on Sunday night the 22nd to watch the pets and house until Thursday. They were going to Salisbury, MD for a softball tournament. Kaleigh decided she would stay home with me and go to the horse barn and to shop in Gettysburg, PA. Which was okay but these were the days I started "loosing my mind".

Came home Thursday morning and relaxed and Friday went to Reba's to continue painting. Worked there until I finished on Sunday. Yeeehaaa!!! It's done!!!

On the way home my oil light came on and I pulled into a school lot to check it out and got caught in a flash thunderstorm. Needless to say, I was drenched through my underwear but ecstatic that I carry a quart of oil with me. Made it home and it hasn't gone low since. Sometimes I think God is punishing me for something.

Monday the 30th I was back on the road to Deb's to pet sit again. This time they left for Los Angeles on a 9 day trip.. I only volunteered for 3 days this time. A neighbor took over when I left.

Wednesday was another play at Totem Pole. "Driving Miss Daisy" and it was very good but Dean cried though the whole thing. she found it very depressing viewing a lady growing old. We met Vicki for dinner at Appleby's in Waynesboro and I came home.

Thursday I started a papering job in Ashburn which was twice what I thought it was going to be. It was 34 rolls in 3 1/2 bathes and a kitchen. She had told me it was a very small place. I worked my butt off for 3 full days but got it finished.

(Note to me------don't accept any more large jobs)

On Friday night I decided to park in the visitors space out front so I wouldn't have to walk so far and guess what??????? You need a tag on your mirror or they tow you........after pitching a hissy fit, Mike took me kicking and cursing to the tow yard and I had to pay $125.00 of my hard-earned money to get my damn truck back. I am madder at him because he had the tag in his car parked in the driveway where he doesn't need it.

Sunday I went to Jeffrey's to drive him around to pick up his tools and ladders from various jobs. No, they have not found him yet to put him in jail. Just waiting for the ball to drop. Wish things were different but they are not so I have to accept that this is his way of life. He's going to be 40 in December so I guess he will never change now.

Yesterday I went to Alexandria to return the leftover paper from that large job and to cover some switchplates in the kitchen that had been added.

Today I went to Herndon-Reston area to repair 2 screw-size holes in some bathroom paper that the women was having a fit to get fixed. She had a bee's nest in her wall and they drilled thru her paper to get to it and she "couldn't live another day with those holes there". Wish that was my only problem!!!!

Dog Days

Well, it appears we are in the dog days of summer. It has been really, really hot and promises to be over 100 degrees by Wednesday.

Lots of things have happened in the past few weeks that I have been having difficulty dealing with for some reason. I seriously think I had some sort of small stroke or something but it left no apparent effects. For about 2 weeks I was having trouble concentrating and focusing on anything. Nothing was coming naturally or reflexively. It was scaring me more than anything because I had no idea how long it would last or that it would ever end. My blood pressure dropped and my blood sugar was very low also so I have been trying to eat more frequently and exercise more to keep my pressure up. Also eating much more salt and drinking lots of water.

I got through working and house sitting and pet sitting but felt like I wasn't functioning properly. Hope this doesn't happen again.

Now I can look back and update what I have accomplished but will tackle that tomorrow. For now I need to finish a movie to return and get to bed.
