Busy Weekend

Friday was a lost day. Couldn't force myself to do a darn thing. I'm glad I don't have many of those.......

Saturday......e-filed my taxes, got my nails done, got my hair trimmed, went to Target, Trader Joe's and Blockbuster. Then packed the car and went to Dean's in Thurmont for the night. Got there about 5:30, Kevin (her grandson) came up and we went to eat and then back to her place to play Rummicubes.

Sunday......up bright and early at 6:30AM because Dean's waterbed sprang a leak and we had to get one of the tubes out of it and into the bathtub to drain. We dressed, went to breakfast and then to St. Catherine's Nursing Home in Emmitsburg to visit "Mr. Ed" and my Uncle Everett. Both are sad situations. Then I was off to my dad's in Cascade to do some house cleaning. About 4:00 PM I left to go to Deb's for the night.

Monday.....went to Preschool with Cassidy and Deb for her "special day" for 2 hours of fun and play. Then back to dad's to waste an hour before my dental appt. at 1:50. Got my teeth cleaned and checked. No problems this time, thank God. Back home by 4:00 PM and to my sofa for a much-needed nap.

Job for Tuesday , with Susie, has canceled (no surprise there) so I have spent this day getting clothes paired up for this coming weekend in Williamsburg for the wedding.

I got a call this afternoon from an old and dear friend, Sue Levin, that I have lost touch with and she is in the area until Thursday. She now lives in Ft. Meyers, FL. and it was good talking to her. I am going to try and meet her tomorrow afternoon if I can get my schedule worked out early enough. Sure hope that works, it has been years since we have seen each other.

Obsessions

I have a new obsession........"Diary of a Mad Black Woman" was recommended and I loved it so I checked out another of this series, "Madea's Family Reunion". Loved that so I got "Madea's Class Reunion". This one was different----it was a tape of a stage play and it is hilarious. Now I am going to either rent or buy the other movies by this director, Tyler Perry. All black movies with many messages to blacks about how to deal with problems, situations and life in general. A very inciteful 34 year old black man from Atlanta.

Tomorrow Mike is going to attempt to take pics of me in my dress selections so we can send them by email and get opinions. I think that is what I need because I just can't make up my mind.

Hung paper in PW County today and have off tomorrow.

Another Call

Now I know something is up........I just got a call from my niece in Oklahoma City. Today is her twins 1st birthday and I had left her a message earlier so she was actually returning my call. But it still seems weird that everyone called tonight.

I love keeping in touch with family.

Well, I didn't win the Mega Millions so it is off to bed for me.

Another possibility...

I found another possibility for the wedding. It is a cocktail dress that fits to a "T" but the thing that I am obsessing about is the color. It is Canary Yellow.

DO I REALLY WANT TO STAND OUT THAT MUCH?
I wish I was not so obsessive but this will go on until the last minute and then just settle down and accept what I have bought. Why don't I just go and pay full price for a dress rather than trying to find the ultimate bargain?????

Tonight I got 3 calls.....1. My nephew, Jason, who is living in Salt Lake City 2.My brother, Shawn, who is camping at Carlsbad Caverns for a few days. Traveling in his new camper. 3. My friend Lucy, from Florida. I am getting the feeling that something terrible must be going to happen. The first 2 very rarely call me anymore so something is brewing in the cosmic universe. WOOWOO WOOWOO

Really enjoyed talking to them, in any case.

Lucy called to tell me an old friend, Doug Ross, is being operated on tomorrow for colon cancer. It seems that every other day there is something tragic happening to someone I know. Guess it is our advancing ages.

I have decided to try a few more stores tomorrow in my quest. Will I ever stop??????

Another week started

Thursday- Deb and Felicia got here about 6:00 PM and we went to Panera for dinner in Gainsville. Got to Radford about 11:30 and checked in about midnight.

Friday-Up at 7:00 and went to breakfast and to RU by 8:30. Walked the campus on a tour, checked out some of the buildings, went to endless meetings and by 2:30 we headed to a softball game between RU and Carolina Coastal. Back on the road around 5:00. Drove around the JMU Campus and came home. Got here about 9:30.

It was a very good trip but was sooooooooooo cold and windy. I think it was about 30 degrees and with the wind, it was very, very tiring for all of us.

Saturday morning I had to hang a mural in a boy's room in McLean and I really didn't want to get out of bed. But I did and it went fairly well and looked good. then I went to GMU and met Greg and Felicia at a softball game with JMU. Still cold and windy so I only stayed for 5 innings and came home to "NAP". "Glorious sleep".

Sunday was Easter and in my plans I was going shopping again to look for a dress that fits for the wedding. Got showered and dressed and called the stores to see if they were open. "NO" So I just laid around all day watching movies and playing on the computer and napping. At least I was clean and dressed.

Today I have an estimate at 1:30 in Oakton and then I will go on my quest for the right dress.

Thursday already ?

Monday I did try to get through my taxes but didn't finish.

Tuesday I went to see an old customer to do minor repairs so they can put house on the market. I managed to drag that out for 3 hours with repairing but mostly chatting.

Wednesday I papered a powder room for a designer in her own house.

Today I am relaxing and getting ready for Deb and Felicia to pick me up tonight. We are going to Radford for a tour of the campus tomorrow and back tomorrow night. Long trip but should be fun.

Still stressing about wedding clothes but will get Deb's opinion tomorrow.

Today all I need to do is pack, shower and go to grocery store. And take a nap so I can make the 4 hour trip tonight.

Wasted.......

I did not get around to my taxes today. No excuse.....I just didn't. I preferred to nap, iron clothes, watch a movie. Anything but what I should have done. so now I am backed into a corner and have to face it tomorrow.

"The Departed" was a movie that I'm not quite sure about yet. I know it was good......Lots of cursing and blood and guts. But it wove around so much about moles and spies that I'm not sure who worked for who. That's why I have to think it through some more.
