Up, Up and Away

After installing a new wireless router and buying and installing a new HDTV yesterday, which are the types of things we do when Teri visits, I am exhausted and ready to leave today. I appreciate everything she does but we cram a whole lot in to a few hours.

Today I am flying to Tampa at 12:30 and I'm supposed to be at the airport by 10:00. Hope I make it. I am not packed or showered or anything yet this AM.

Busy, busy, busy!!!

This time of the year my business always gets crazy because everyone wants things decorated for the holidays. I'm trying to stretch out the work and still schedule days off. This week I worked 3 long hard days and now have off until Friday the 17th. Saturday I am flying to Tampa to stay with a friend (who's husband just died in Sept.) until Wednesday the 15th. Not a long stay but I prefer short trips so I don't get too far out of my routine. Will be a good break and good to see Lucy also.

Tomorrow Teri is coming to visit and hopefully install our 2nd wireless router, as the 1st is not working correctly. We'll go to lunch and I get my hair done at 6:30.

Brief Synopsis of last weekend............Something I never do. An old boyfriend of mine,Tony Adamowicz, from 1960-61 was racing at VIR in Alton, Va. Friday and Saturday. He lives in Costa Mesa, CA. And there were others going to be there that I hadn't seen in 45 years so I decided to drive down and visit. Drove for 5 hours to Danville, VA., got my own motel room and tried to call Tony's cell phone. No answer.........it was in his coat pocket in a car. Drove to the track (about 30 mins. away) and no way could I find anyone that looked familiar in their racing garb. And too many trailers, cars, RVs, etc. so returned to motel. Finally Tony called to say several of the old timers would pick me up for dinner. I had a blast !!! Dinner and reminising and joking till after 11:00 with 6 retired race car drivers, but not Tony, the one I had hoped to see. Saturday AM Tony was back at the track bright and early so I missed him again. Decided just to hit the road to return home since they were tied up all day with racing and I had to be home by 6:00. Debbie and Felicia were spending the night here with me. Got home about 2:00, unpacked and took a nap waiting for my company to get here.

Sunday morning, up bright and early as Deb and Felicia were heading out the door to be at the Sports Complex in Sterling by 7:30 AM. Game started at 8:30 so I had an extra hour to get ready. Was there by 8:40 (just a little late) and stayed for the second game at 11:30. Game over at 1:30 and they headed back to Westminster and I came home for another nap and the end of the Redskins-Dallas game (which they won-Hallelujah).

Life seems to be good for now.

Hump Day

All the way to Alexandria to work today...traffic is horrendous going and coming but with a new book-on-tape it was tolerable.

Tomorrow's job is up in the air, as usual. Seems they paved the driveway and it can't be driven on for a few days. AND the drive is about 1/4 mile long. Don't think I care to carry all my equipment that far, thank you very much !!! Now they are saying that the floors are getting done on Monday so I can't get in then either. Problems and dilemmas. (Decorator just called and said they will do the 1st coat on floors on Saturday and finish on Tuesday, so I can work on Monday. Hallelujah !!!)

That gives me off for tomorrow and I can hopefully clean out my truck.

Debbie just called and asked if she and Felicia could spend the night here on Saturday because of another softball tournament in Sterling. Sounds like a busy weekend.

My, My Time Flies!!!

It seems impossible that it is November already....and yesterday, Halloween, was 73 degrees.

I proved that kids are still little sh..s last night. I actually bought candy this year and after running up to answer the door the first time to find noone there, I decided just to do the "honor system" and I set the bowl on the front step. It was empty in less than 5 minutes. Guess that wasn't such a good plan.

To catch up on the last 2 weeks.............work is good, health is good, truck is good, weather is good...................nothing exciting to report. Thank you, Lord!!

Working in Alexandria today so need to shower and move faster and earlier this morning.
