Another List Day

I have been ticking things off of my to-do list today.

End of month and tags on truck need renewing. Oil needs changing. Need emission test to get tags. Have to go to grocery store. And on and on and on........

1.First in line at emission testing station-PASSED $28.00
2.Second in line for oil change. Had $10.00 off coupon, so only had to pay $19.99.
3.No surprise-----had them test the battery and it was low on the scale, so $120 for new one. Got back $.51 change from $150.00.
4.Gas $19.00 before I stopped pump.
5.DMV drive thru for tags $63.00 for 2 yrs.
6.Went to Target (put new stickers on tags in parking lot) and got some groceries. Resisted looking at fun things for once.
7.Next Trader Joe's for more groceries.
8.Home to unload groceries and make some calls.
9.Called Totem Pole to buy extra ticket for Debbie to go along on July 5th.
10.Called Social Security reguarding a letter they had sent me about Medicare. Most frustrating thing I did all day. After being given 5 different numbers to call, they are sending me some forms to fill out. I HATE FORMS!!! But just another necessary part of getting old.
11.Nap time.........
12.Dinner
13.Trimmed bushes in the front of house. Could barely see out the front because all of the rain lately has made things grow and grow and grow.

Anyway now I am exhausted just listing what I have accomplished but I need these days where I get a "burst of organization" energy.

Have to work tomorrow so hope I have the energy left to get thru the day.

Steam Heat

Still rainy--- 3 days now and HOT. At least no more water in the basement for now. Is it time to build an Ark yet?

Please, God, let my truck air conditioner work all summer!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday, to keep busy, I started painting Susie's stair case and upper hall. Not an easy chore but she is doing as much as I am this time. Had to Prime ceiling and all walls first and then got one coat of paint on ceiling. Hope one is enough but wasn't looking good around the edges.

Today is paint the walls and woodwork. Hope her air conditioner keeps working.

Really would like to mow my yard. It is getting so deep with weeds that I'll have to wear boots to walk through it. GET OUT THE SCYTHE!!!!!!!!

Painted Shoes

I forgot to mention that my dad, grandfather of the bride for the wedding on May 20th, refused to buy new shoes for the nuptuals. While we were shopping, he took black spray paint and painted his old loafers and that is what he wore to the wedding. We should lock him up and through away the key.........

I have spent this entire day rearranging things in my closet and repacking Christmas decorations. Still need to buy some more plastic containers but I really needed to get this done. After 6-8 months of chucking things in the closet, it was impossible to find anything.

LONG PAUSE

Well, we just got the worst thunderstorm that I can remember in a long time. All of a sudden I realized my feet were in water while typing this post. The water apparently was coming in around the foundation by the buckets. Had to get all wires and power strips off the floor and mopped up about 10 gallons of water. Now they say we are going to get more storms. Oh joy!!!!! No sleep tonight.

Will update tomorrow.......

Rainy Sunday

I guess I am getting to be an old bitchy woman. It is a rainy (pouring), peaceful Sunday morning and our newspaper is not here at 7:40AM. The last delivery person had the paer here at 5:30 so I suppose we were spoiled. The Post says it's not late until after 8 AM. They are not sitting and waiting!!!!

This will probably turn into a negative posting because I have put off writing for a while.

The wedding on May 20 was beautiful (as they always are) and visiting wihth my brothers' family was also good.

Here comes the "but monkey"............my dad was a royal pain in the ass. You would think that he could be a little gracious to the few guests he has these days. But NO he can't even wear clean clothes or turn the heat to a liveable level. He says he is cold and has to have it 80 degrees in the house. He absolutely refuses to put on a sweater or, God forbid, socks to keep his feet warm. The rest of us are outside in our pj's enjoying the 45-50 degrees to even breathe. He gets furious if you keep the inside doors open to get light because, he says, cold air comes through the sides of the storm door and he can't stand it.

This is just some of the obstinence that we tolerated until I packed and left early Sunday morning and went to Debbie's to calm down.

I know I am getting old and obstinent also and maybe that is why I get so upset with him. I see that I could be a pain to my kids if I don't change my ways.

During this time of non-writing, I have had a lot of happy customers and 1 WITCH. She and her husband decided they didn't like my work and said I was messy. How the heck do you hang wallpaper without being a little messy??? Anyway they reported me to the store that recommended me and they were not happy. I offered to return their money but they refused that. Guess they weren't that unhappy. This depressed me for about a week and then I decided to get control and rejoice in the happy customers.

Also, my Springer spaniel, Barkley got really sick and I had to have him put to sleep on June 16. I still hear his toenails on the upstairs floor and hear him breathing at night. Guess I miss him more than I admit but will not be getting another pet because of being tied-down too much and finding pet sitters is not easy.

I pet-sat for my daughter on June 16 and 17 and stayed over to go to horse show that Kaleigh, my 13 yr. old granddaughter was in on Sunday.

After the horse show I went to my dad's to give him his Father's Day card and got furious again with him. He was getting ready to go to church at 6 PM and his clothes were unacceptable. He had on a grey "Gilley's t-shirt with black letters, navy suspenders, brown belt and shoes, black socks and, worst of all, khaki pants with a very large pee stain (dried) on the front. Refused to change so I just turned around and said "whatever" and came home.

Wednesday was my outing to Totem Pole Theater in Pa. with my aunt and my dad. Surprise, surprise----------he wore the same clothes. It was so embarassing that we didn't want to be seen with him.

AM I WRONG OR IS THIS INAPPROPRIATE???

Let's hope my paper is here now-------------

Catching Up?????????

Well, no one has been keeping this blog up to date for me so guess I will have to take the time later and try to piece together what has been happening. Nothing exciting but I just got out of my routine.
